WASCOB Tile Design

The training shows the tile design components of the WASCOB Design spreadsheet. This video finishes the basin system design started in the WASCOB Design Intro video. The tile design tabs and output pages will be explained through this recorded demonstration. The user will see where data is entered and get a better understanding of how to draft up and design the tile outlet system as part of the WASCOB practice. (Time: 19:22)

WASCOB Design Intro

(Time 19:55) The training intruduces employees to NRCS's WASCOB Design spreadsheet. This is an introductory level training with a format of some demonstration but mostly PowerPoint. There is a brief overview of the entire spreadsheet and then the video focuses on the inputs, output results, and design considerations of the first tab related to a single basin design.

Basic WASCOB Section IV

(Time: 10:02) Video pulls in some linked "handouts" (see links below) to prepare staff for discussions with landowners during the initial parts of I&E. Statement of Work and O&M plans are briefly discussed. It summarizes the main criteria in a design by linking the training's topics back to the practice standards.

Basic WASCOB Section III

(Time: 14:06) Focuses on the underground outlet supporting practice and ties the outlet design into the basin design. Stage storage is explained and it touches on survey considerations. This section is more technical and promotes an understanding of the basic computations regardless of the design software used.

Basic WASCOB Section I

The Basic WASCOB training series is a four-part video based on the original Basic WASCOB webinar presented in April from the Technical Training and Certification Program. The format is mostly a recorded PowerPoint. This course is intended for staff that are very new to the WASCOB practice and need to learn terminology, design concepts, and start to visualize how WASCOBs are laid out in the field. The goal is to build a base-level of knowledge to prepare staff for further classroom and field training opportunities.
