Training Description:
Stacy Cushenbery and Leif Fixen of The Nature Conservancy provided an overview of the science and economics surrounding the rapidly evolving world of agricultural ecosystem services, followed by an in depth look at central Minnesota’s Ecosystem Services Marketplace Consortium (ESMC) pilot project from ESMC’s project manager, Stacy Cushenbery. The session will offer attendees a general understanding of Carbon sequestration, Water Quality, Water Quantity and Greenhouse gas reduction mechanisms and markets, and offer an inside look at Minnesota’s unique opportunities to test new innovations, contribute to critical research projects and provide input to guide ESMC program development – all while generating saleable ecosystem service assets.
